1-1-1: When I Make a Tiny Mistake

1-1-1: When I Make a Tiny Mistake

Hey friends,

Hope you had a good weekend.

Here’s this week’s 1 Doodle • 1 Do • 1 Direction.

1 Doodle

This week’s doodle came from something small. I noticed how one tiny mistake, a sentence, a look, a comment, can suddenly take over my whole head. All the good stuff is still there, but it gets pushed to the edges, like it barely counts.

This week, I posted something online and got negative comments from four people. Even though I got more than 91 positive comments, those four stuck with me for days. I finally wrote them down on a piece of paper and tossed it in the trash bin, something I usually do when a negative thing keeps my thinking hostage (and most of the time, doing this works for me).

I drew this because I do this more often than I want to admit. Just like weight is different on different planets, sometimes mistakes feel heavier in my head, while outside my head, or in other people’s heads, they feel lighter.

1 Do

When you notice one small mistake starting to grow in your head, pause for a moment and name it:

“This is just one small thing.” Chances are, it won’t matter in a few years.

1 Direction

This week, I’m trying to let small mistakes stay small, instead of giving them free rent in my mind.

That’s all for this week.

Stay safe, healthy, and happy!

With love,

- Ehsan /a-sun/
