Hey friends,
Hope you had a good weekend.
Here’s this week’s 1-1-1.
1 Doodle
I’m writing this newsletter from Singapore!
I’m here for training in my new role. If you missed it, I explained why I changed jobs in this video.
Looking back, the process that led me here began when I adopted the 90-day goal strategy, and making a career move was at the top of my list. This week’s reminder feels different. It’s more than a reminder. It’s proof to me that setting a 90-day goal and backing it up with daily action worked for me. I made the biggest career move of my life while I was at the peak of my career at Intel.
1 Do
Set one 90-day work-related goal today. Then outline what you need to accomplish this week to move toward it, and break those actions into micro-tasks you can complete during your daily focus time.
For me, that goal is to deepen my knowledge of statistics.
1 Direction
Let me be real: landing this new job didn’t happen within a single 90-day cycle. It happened midway through my third one.
Every time I didn’t get the job after an interview, I prepared for the next opportunity. I told myself, “Another strong engineer earned that position, so next time, I need to be the stronger candidate.”
I didn’t just walk into the next interview with the same answers. I reviewed every response that could have been better, practiced it repeatedly, and refined it until it was as strong as possible.
Don’t assume that one 90-day cycle will be enough to get you all the way there. It might take two, three, or even more. The real value of a 90-day cycle is that it helps you fail sooner and adjust sooner.
That’s all for this week.
Warmly,
- Ehsan /a-🌞/

P.P.S. I recently made a video on I left Intel (not a layoff, I left). You can watch it here.
