Hey friends,
Hope you had a good weekend.
Here’s this week’s 1 Doodle · 1 Do · 1 Direction.
1 Doodle
This week I caught myself stressing about the future. The future of my life, my work, and the direction things might go. And when I think about it too much, it quickly starts to feel messy and overwhelming.
The reason, I think, is uncertainty.
When we look forward, everything feels tangled. There are too many possibilities, too many things we cannot control, and too many questions without answers.
But the interesting thing is that when we look backward, things suddenly make more sense.
We can see why certain things happened.
Why someone said what they said.
Why the job we wanted didn’t work out.
Why a rejection led us somewhere else.
Looking back, the dots seem connected.
Looking forward, they don’t.
Then I had a comforting thought: one day, this confusing future will become the past too. And when that happens, I will probably look back and say, “Ah, that’s why that happened.”
So this week’s doodle is a reminder to myself.
Right now we live in the small space called now, between a past that makes sense and a future that doesn’t yet.
But one day, today will also become a dot in the past.
And it will connect too.
1 Do
Think of one thing in your past that once felt confusing or disappointing but later made sense.
Write one sentence about it.
Then remind yourself:
“Today might be one of those dots too.”
1 Direction
This week, I’m trying to remind myself that the future will probably make sense one day, even if it doesn’t today.
That’s all for this week.
With love,
